The Hanuman Chalisa (Reggae Version) track was released by Mystic Tree on Tuesday, 9th Apr 2019 in anticipation of the 2019 Hanuman Jayanti celebration. The track features Pratish Mistry on lead vocals and numerous international collaborators contributing from Nigeria to Mauritius.
Alas, this track was destined to be the seed for #HijackHanuman – less than a month after the release, RP-SG, the Indian conglomerate holding the Saregama music label filed a copyright infringement complaint against this track as well as the instrumental version. This resulted in the track being removed from the 150+ online stores it was available on. As at 6 June 2019, it has been almost a month and despite several emails to RP-SG, we have still had zero response from them about the details of their allegation.
